Larry Klaff is a senior managing director and head of asset-based lending of Napier Park Global Capital, a leading global alternative credit platform and a First Eagle Investments company. In his role, Larry oversees the sourcing, underwriting and management of asset-based loans and serves on the investment committee of the firm’s Direct Lending platform for asset-based loans. Prior to joining First Eagle in July 2020, Larry was the senior managing director leading originations and underwriting at Gordon Brothers Finance Company (a portfolio company of BlackRock Capital Investment Corporation), where he oversaw more than a billion dollars of transactions and served on the firm’s investment committee. He also was the founding member and managing director of Gordon Brothers Merchant Partner, LLC, a $330 million hedge fund, and before that managing director of Gordon Brothers, LLC structured loan team. Larry joined Gordon Brothers Group in 1996 as a senior associate in the valuation and advisory services division after beginning his career in various management and finance positions at several major retailers. Larry earned a BA from Hobart College and an MBA from the Kogod School of Business at American University. He is currently a board member of the Secured Finance Network (formerly the Commercial Finance Association) and previously served on its executive committee for eight years.  He is also a past president and board member of its New England chapter. In addition, he served as a board member and past president of the Northeast chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
