Jeffrey Kovanda

Jeffrey Kovanda is a managing director and sector portfolio manager on First Eagle Alternative Credit’s Tradable Credit team, supporting senior portfolio managers in conducting fundamental research and evaluating investment opportunities. As industry vertical lead covering the healthcare sector, Jeffrey is also responsible for training and mentoring credit analysts and associates. Jeffrey became part of First Eagle in 2020 upon the firm’s acquisition of THL Credit, which he had joined in 2005. Previously, Jeffrey was a senior credit analyst at McDonnell Investment Management and served as a credit analyst for the bank loan asset management group at Columbia Management Advisors. Earlier in his career, he was a research associate at Stein Roe & Farnham’s private placement group, where he focused on asset-backed securities and investment grade bonds. Jeffrey earned a BS from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Chicago.
