Matthew Hawk is a vice president and senior research analyst on First Eagle Alternative Credit’s Tradable Credit team, supporting senior portfolio managers in conducting fundamental research and evaluating investment opportunities. As industry vertical lead covering media and telecommunication sectors, Matt is also responsible for training and mentoring credit analysts and associates. Matt became part of First Eagle in 2020 upon the firm’s acquisition of THL Credit, which he had joined in 2014. Previously, Matt worked in the restructuring group at Lazard, where he specialized in corporate turnarounds and in-court and out-of-court restructurings across a variety of industries. He earned a BS in finance and accountancy from the University of Illinois. Matt holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.
